The Labyrinth is an ancient spiritual form that encourages prayer and concentration in the context of a walking meditation. The design is taken from the floor of the cathedral in Chartres, France. The single path takes the walker through three experiences: Purgation -- shedding, or letting go -- during the walk inward to the center; Union with God, at the center of the design; and Illumination, or awareness of spiritual calls and ministry, on the walk out. |
