Update from the Rector
February 1, 2022
Dear Trinity friends,
One of the axioms of my growing-up years was the phrase, “Anything worth doing is worth doing well.” And never is that more true than when we’re talking about an important task that someone has entrusted to you.
Over the past weeks and months, Trinity’s vestry, guided by our treasurer, Finance Committee, and business manager, has been working on the 2022 budget, to be presented at the Annual Meeting. As stewards of the financial resources of this parish, the vestry takes seriously their responsibility to paint a clear and coherent picture of our finances, and to make wise decisions about how those funds are spent.
The process of reviewing and nailing down all of the details of the 2022 budget has taken longer than expected, and so rather than hurry this process, we’ve decided to postpone the Annual Meeting by two weeks. The Annual Meeting, originally scheduled for this Sunday, February 6 will instead take place Sunday, February 20, 2022. On that day, we will have one service at 9:30am (in person in the sanctuary and live streamed), followed by the Annual Meeting. The meeting will be offered online for those who are unable to attend the meeting in person. Instructions on how to join the meeting remotely will be shared closer to the meeting time.
I also want to share with you the news that due to the dramatic decrease in COVID cases in Santa Barbara County, we will resume in person worship on Sunday, February 13, with services at 8am and 10am.
So, to recap all these details….
Sunday, February 6: No Annual Meeting. Worship via Zoom at 10am, followed by Zoom coffee hour.
Sunday, February 13: Indoor, in person worship resumes, with services at 8am and 10am (also live streamed). Coffee hour on the labyrinth and via Zoom after the 10am service.
Sunday, February 20: Indoor, in person worship with ONE service at 9:30am (also live streamed) followed by the Annual Meeting (with remote participation available).
Thank you for your continued faithfulness and flexibility as we navigate through the chances and changes of our world—all made easier, though, when we travel through them together.
With faith and confidence,

P.S. My pups, Augie and Frankie, are looking forward to joining in on worship in the coming month. If you hear squeaky noises in the background, just think of that as their AMEN!
