Again this year, we are opening the nomination process for new vestry members to the whole congregation. If you know someone who would be a good candidate or want to be considered for a term on the vestry, let the Nominating Committee know and come to the Vestry Discernment Forum. Georgia Noble, the Senior Warden, and few vestry members will share the requirements, commitment, and benefits of serving this way.
Are you being called to be on the vestry, now or in the future? Do you know someone who might be a good candidate? In this forum, we will provide both the “job description” and the criteria and expectations of vestry members. We look for people who are grounded in faith, regular in worship attendance, and people of prayer. We are looking for gifts, skills, and experience that will be helpful to our governance. We will include practical information about meeting attendance, and you will hear from current vestry members about the challenges and blessings of this ministry. You will leave with a sense of the time commitment and our support in prayerful listening. If you feel called, forward your name to Stephen Singleton, the Nominating Committee chair, for consideration. If you want to nominate someone, you must get their permission. Contact: Stephen Singleton; teaslton@cox.net. Find more information here.
