Choir News

This past Trinity Sunday was the choir's last offering of the program year before they take a well-deserved summer break. I am so proud of each member of the choir, who brings his or her own unique gifts to singing. Collectively, this remarkable community of volunteers comes together on Thursday evenings for two hours to rehearse, and returns to deliver exceptional choral music on Sunday mornings. Their musicianship, professionalism, and spirituality are awe-inspiring. I admire the choir so much for their ongoing devotion to making sacred music come alive, their thoroughness in preparation, and their beautiful artistry.

Thanks, too, to the guest instrumentalists who have joined the music making this past year: Douglas Clegg and Kate Wallace (strings and vocals), Bill Wood (bassoon), Bill Williams (trumpet), Joel Lefever (organ).

I would like to announce that Jane Hahn will no longer be serving in the position of Assistant Director of Music. I am so grateful to Jane for her work in this role over the past three years, and for the many times she has shared her musical gifts with us as a flutist, singer, and conductor. The position of Assistant Director of Music will remain inactive for the foreseeable future.

I am looking forward to the choir returning next September. In the meantime, a great lineup of vocal soloists and instrumentalists will serve on Sunday mornings during the summer, including Grace Wenzel, Olga Shishkina, Becky Hoffman, Holly Hoffman, Lorenzo Johnson, Casey Dunn, Douglas Clegg, and Kate Wallace.
